Kyuha Jung

Hi, I'm Kyuha!

I’m an incoming PhD student in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine (advisor: Dr. Yunan Chen). My research areas are Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Health Informatics where I take qualitative human-centered approaches to increase accessibility and sustainability of mental healthcare. I am interested in designing technology that can facilitate tracking and sensemaking of people’s lived experiences with mental health issues. I pay close attention to people who use technology for their mental health needs and ways to improve the status quo on behalf of them.
Prior to my PhD, I received a M.A. in Communication at Seoul National University (advisors: Dr. Joonhwan Lee and Hajin Lim at the HCI+D Lab) and a B.S. in Information and Interaction Design at Yonsei University (advisor: Dr. Younah Kang).
